Excellent FREE Tips on

• Peel fruits and vegetables only if that is really necessary. You should peel organic produce with thicker peels, which could even damage your fruit machine when juicing (a pineapple, a pomegranate, a watermelon, a banana …) and you should remove peels with a bitter taste (a lemon, an orange …).
For instance: Pineapple nutrition is very healthy, but a very stiff and thick skin would surely damage a fruit machine when juicing.
Otherwise, peels contain the majority of good nutritional substances and it would be a shame if they were removed.
It is also true that the skins of non-organic grown fruits and vegetables contain many poisons and so they really must be properly washed. This is another good reason why fresh, natural, organically grown vegetables and fruits should always be used.
Unfortunately, except for your own produce you can never be sure. Therefore, to be absolutely on the safe side, you can use one of the amazing fruit and vegetable washing devices. Yes, it is an investment, but it is more than justified.
• Small seeds from fruits (such as a watermelon, a pear, an apple, a citrus…) and vegetables (such as a cucumber, a pumpkin, a squash …) should not be removed. They are a rich source of nutritional substances, so they should be juiced, too.
Only their taste will maybe bother you a little; for instance, the taste of citrus seeds is bitter. Anyway, just try and follow your taste and you will surely find the right proportion.
• You should remove stones from fruits (a peach, an apricot, cherries …). Pits would surely damage your juice machine.
• For fruit and vegetable juicing you must chop the ingredients into appropriately big pieces; they should easily fit to a juicer’s feeding chute.

Greens should be wound around firm fruits and vegetables. For instance: In order to achieve a better juicing result you can wind parsley sprigs around a carrot or you can prepare sheaves of herbs or greens.
I normally juice such sheaf, then firm fruit and vegetable parts or roots like ginger or dandelion root; and then I normally continue with juicing of a lemon or an orange, resp. one of more juicy fruit or vegetable.
• In order to ensure that you get the healthiest natural juices, the fruit and vegetable juicing process must be done slowly. Neither you should put the cut up pieces into the juicer too quickly, nor should you push with a bat (pusher) too strongly. Try it yourself and you will see the difference.
Step 5 - Drink a Fresh Juice / Preserve Fruit and Vegetable Nutritional Value
The best what you can do for your good health and feeling is to drink a fresh juice, just after it is prepared. If you wait, the juice can get deteriorated, it can ferment.
Anyway, if you cannot drink a freshly prepared healthy drink for whatever reason, here are some tips on how you can prolong its useful freshness:
• You can pour a spoon of quality, cold-pressed oil over the juice in a glass, and that will prevent the oxidation.
Such protected beverage can wait in a fridge for a couple of hours, but unfortunately, it still loses some of its healthy nutritional value.
Before you drink the juice, you can remove the oil or you can simply mix it with the liquid. The second option is from the health point of view better since oil helps digest the fat soluble vitamins.
You can use different quality, cold-pressed oils, like olive, linseed, hemp, sesame …
Olive oil suits us best. We enjoy fantastic health benefits of olive oil in combinations with different fruit and vegetable. In addition, olive oil is for us an irreplaceable natural remedy for many health problems.
There are water-soluble vitamins: C, B and B-complex, H; and fat-soluble vitamins: A, D, E, and K. Without fat, these vitamins are useless for our body. Therefore, the oils on the one side, contribute to the higher nutritional value of juice and, on the other, they slow down the digestion.

• I usually prepare a bigger amount of juice in the morning, I put it in full, well-closed glass jars, which I put in the fridge. Then we drink it throughout the day. In the summer time, when it is hot, we just add water.
• I also freeze different juices into ice cubes. We use them to improve water taste or just for cooling down a fresh drink. And it looks very nice and decorative, too.
• You can also freeze juice in plastic cups or bottles. You can easily take such frozen beverage to work or to any other place.
• For storage, you should use only dishes made of glass whenever possible. They are much easier to be cleaned and much healthier than the plastic ones.
But … homemade juice, frozen in a plastic dish, is still much healthier than “artificial” drink in whatever package you can get in a store.
Step 6 - How Much and How You Should Drink the Juice?
How much juice can/should you drink is a very important question. Always slowly and little by little … you should start with one glass of a fresh juice a day and you should slowly increase the dose, even up to 10 glasses (four liters) a day.
It is possible that due to a huge consumption of natural substances you can get your ears ringing, depends of course on which juicer recipes you will prepare. Our bodies can detect very quickly if the juice is too strong and we can feel sick or we can get an unpleasant feeling in our stomachs.

According to Norman W. Walker, we can drink vegetable juice in a quantity that suits us, as long as we do not push ourselves. His rule is that the minimum quantity of juice, which still guarantees visible effects, is half a liter (two glasses) a day. If you can gradually drink more, up to four liters a day, the advantages will be visible even sooner.
Still, my opinion is that you should listen and observe your body’s reaction to so many healthy nutritional substances. By juice consumption, our bodies recognize natural substances, so they also react.
Many times, I was (and still am) a “lab rabbit” when it comes to fruit and vegetable juicing. It even happened once that due to too much and too quickly consumed juice, detoxification was too fast and my body’s reaction was diarrhea, nausea, and different headaches. Instead of feeling well, I felt sick.
I have learnt from my mistakes and you can benefit from them, too. You should always consider your taste. Gradually, you will also get used to the green leafy vegetable taste, which you can still always improve by adding some fruits.
With the fruit and vegetable juicing, you can get to know your body’s activity better. By self-observation, you can establish how your body reacts to consumption of quality, life-important nutritional substances.
And… how should you drink the juice?
You should always take small gulps; juice should be well stirred with saliva. In case you are very thirsty, you should drink watered juice (diluted with living water).
